DOHA, Jan 12 (KUNA) -- Qatar said Saturday it was sending urgent aid to the
Syrian refugees in the Zaatari camp in northern Jordan.
Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani ordered the
dispatch of 38 tons of tens, blankets, clothes and heaters to the Syrian
refugees who are facing ver cold winter in northern Jordan, official news
agency (QNA) quoted a foreign ministry source as saying.
The aid is part of Qatar's "duty towards its brothers the Syrian people in
their ordeal," said the source.
The United Arab Emirates on Friday committed USD five million to the relief
effort for the Syrian refugees in the Zaatari camp. (end)
