KUWAIT, Jan 7 (KUNA) -- 1933 -- First postal air trip between Kuwait and Baghdad was organized.
1963 -- The first US ambassador to Kuwait delivered his credentials to the Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
1979 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah issued decrees setting jurisdictions of the ministries of information, social affairs and labor, public works, housing, awqaf and Islamic affairs, commerce and industry, education, interior, health, justice, power, water, finance and oil.
1998 -- The polyethylene project was launched at Al-Shuaiba zone at a cost of KD 50 million.
1998 -- Musical composer Rashed Al-Kheder died at the age of 42.
1999 -- Kuwait was included in the UN list of honored nations for paying all financial contributions to the international organization.
2008 -- The Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-sabah issued Law No. 1 (2008) founding a public share-holding company for banking services according to the Islamic Shariaa (law) with a capital amounting to KD 100 million, 24 stakes of which for the government and 76 for ordinary citizens.
