This came in a statement made by the Minister to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after chairing the Kuwaiti delegation to the 89th conference of the Council of Ministers of OAPEC, which concluded here today.
Hussein urged member states to increase their contribution through cooperation in the field of energy, whether crude oil, natural gas or renewable energy, as well as conducting more specialized studies in all relevant fields, particularly in the area of climate change.
The minister added that the conference discussed the organization's budget, previous meetings, as well as reviewing a large number of energy-related studies.
He pointed out that the conference also discussed the situation of energy companies of OAPEC, especially those operating in the fields of maritime transport activities, oil tankers' service, drilling, exploration and various areas of the petroleum industry.
In this context, Hussein said that the ministers reviewed activities of these companies and their financial results, saying that those companies were currently executing a number of joint projects in various Arab countries, which proved success of Arab coordination in this vital industry.
