BAGHDAD, Dec 18 (KUNA) -- Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, who was
hospitalised in Baghdad because of a "health emergency" late Monday night, was
diagnosed with a brain stroke, Iraqi TV said Tuesday.
The TV added, "medical teams are working on stabalising the President's
condition after the brain stroke".
The Presidential office had stated earlier that "the President was
hospitalised due to fatigue and tiredness, (Talabani) had a health emergency
and was transported... to the hospital in Baghdad".
A specialised medical team is taking care of him and a report will be
issued later," his office said.
