ANKARA, Dec 17 (KUNA) -- Turkish reporter working for US news channel
(NBC), Aziz Akyava has been missing since the past five days, amid reports
that the Syrian regime might have kidnapped him.
According to Turkish news channel (NTV) the reporter went missing since
last Wednesday. He was covering the Syrian crisis.
The Turkish channel said that the NBC was unable to contact the reporter,
however NBC Middle East Office Director Richard Engel, who is currently inside
Syria, was the one who announced that his reporter was missing.
NTV added that both reporters were working inside Syria to cover the
crisis, noting that the missing reporter might have been arrested by Syrian
regime forces.
The incident, the third this year comes after two other reporters who were
captured by the Syrian regime and later were released. (end)
