JEDDAH, Nov 12 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) said Monday that it will present its fifth report on Islamophobia during the 39th session of the foreign ministers of the member states' meeting, which will be held on 15-17 November in Djibouti.
In a statement, OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu reiterated that the West is witnessing the process of institutionalization and legitimization of the phenomenon of Islamophobia in a systematic continuous process throughout the past five years.
He said that the report warns of exploitation of religion for political purposes, which may threaten global peace and security, noting that "the incident of threatening to burn the Holy Quran in Florida and the video insulting Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), broadcasted on YouTube, represent major violations against the Islamic symbols".
