Kuwait urges Japan endorse UN convention on handicapped rights

(with photos) GENEVA, Nov 2 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait has urged the Japanese Government to approve the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and enact laws that prohibit indiscrimination against this segment of the society of the Asian nation.
Rania Al-Mulaifi, a diplomatic attache of the permanent Kuwaiti mission at the UN here, in a statement addressed to a session of the UN Human Rights Council, urged Tokyo to grant Japanese women greater role in the society, within the framework of the nation multiple accomplishments in the realm of human rights.
Al-Mulaifi, in her address to the session, dedicated for reviewing Japan's file of human rights, expressed Kuwait's great interest in the national Japanese report, presented to the council, praising the Tokyo government for training staff in the field of human rights, namely with regard of rights of women, children, combating violence against females and human trafficking.
