BAGHDAD, Oct 28 (KUNA) -- The United Kingdom has condemned attacks in Iraq
on Saturday, which killed and injured scores of Iraqi civilians.
In a statement, British diplomat to Iraq Ambassador Simon Collis said that
he strongly condemns the attacks which killed and injured a large number of
people on 27 October.
"These are shocking and cowardly attacks which demonstrate a complete
disregard for human life. It is especially horrifying that some of these
attacks seem to have targeted children and families celebrating Eid Al-Adha,"
the statement said.
"My thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those
killed and injured," the British ambassador said, adding that the "British
Government is committed to working with the Government of Iraq to defeat those
who perpetrate such acts of violence."
Last night, at least 13 people were killed and 55 others injured in bomb
explosions in Sadr City in east Baghdad. (end)
