MAKKAH, Saudi Arabia, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- The Iranians who were arrested at
Saudi Arabia's east coast were originally planning to sail to Kuwait but lost
their way, Saudi Interior Ministry Prince Ahmad bin Abdulaziz said Saturday.
"During interrogations, they (Iranian arrestees) said they were heading for
Kuwait to seek jobs but the owner of the boat dropped them on the Saudi side,"
Prince Ahmad, also chairman of the supreme Hajj Committee, told reporters
after inspecting preparations for the Hajj season.
"Interrogations are ongoing and we have not seen any ban intentions," he
added.
Prince Ahmad, meanwhile, said Iran has asserted complete commitment with
the instructions of the Saudi authorities during the Hajj season.
He said Saudi Arabia did not and would not ban any Syrian pilgrim from
entering the country.
Prince Ahmad said the Saudi authorities would investigate death cases which
occured while some Nigerian women were banned from entering the country
because of their violations to rules. (end)
