RIYADH, Sept 17 (KUNA) -- A Saudi-Egyptian naval exercise comprising of
Royal Saudi Naval Forces and Egyptian Naval Forces concluded on Monday.
According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the exercise named Morjan 13 was
attended by Saudi Chief of the General Staff, Lt. General Hussein ibn Abdullah
Al-Gubayel and Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces General Sidqi Subhi.
The Saudi-Egyptian naval exercise was conducted with the participation of a
number of Royal Saudi Air force aircrafts, SPA added.
Saudi Commander of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces Lt. Gen. Dakhil-Ullah
Al-Waqdani said that the exercise comes within a series of joint exercises
conducted by Saudi Royal Navy with navies of friendly countries.
Al-Waqdani explained that it also aims to raise combat readiness, exchange
experiences and gain combat skills through precision in planning and
professionalism in the implementation and the ability to exercise procedures
of command and control of different units in theater of operations.
For his part, Egyptian Armed Forces General Sidqi Subhi said in a similar
statement that such training did not only focused on naval forces, but also
land and air forces as well. (end)
