BAGHDAD, Sept 10 (KUNA) -- Five Iraqis were killed and 21 injured in a car
bomb attack in southwest of Baghdad on Monday, a police source said.
A booby-trapped car parking near a popular cafe in Al-Bayya' area has
exploded, and killed three civilians and wounded 18 others as well as damaging
nearby shops, the source told KUNA.
Another bomb exploded in the north of Al-Hella, Babylon province, killing
two civilians and injuring three soldiers.
An explosive device that was attached to a civilian war was detonated when
the vehicle reached an Iraqi army checkpoint. The two persons inside the car
were killed by the blast, a source in the Babylon police said.
A series of explosions took place in different areas in Iraq yesterday
killing around 88 people and injuring some 300 others. (end)
