KUWAIT, July 16 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Airways said here Monday it was applying
maximum maintenance standards stipulated by international plane makers and
safety bodies, in spite of its current financial trouble.
Kuwait's national carrier meets necessary security and safety conditions
and boasts highly efficient staff, it said in a release.
Furthermore, Kuwait Airways has set out a water-tight plan to cut expenses
for the FY 2011-12, despite a hike in pays to KD three million as well as a
rise in fuel costs to KD 20 million, it added.
State agencies concerned ought to exert concerted efforts in order to
salvage and privatize the ailing airline, it emphasized. (end)
