KUWAIT, July 8 (KUNA) -- Financial losses as a result of an initial decision to suspend the flights of three to five Kuwait Airways aircraft "are not important, as long as the safety of passengers is not in danger", said a senior Kuwaiti official.
Minister of Communications and acting Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Salem Al-Uthainah told KUNA on Sunday that the decision, as of this week, comes after recent breakdowns of some of the state-owned airline's planes, adding "there is no room for courtesy at the expense of the lives of people." The minister had earlier stated that the decision comes as a prelude to earlier similiar decisions aimed at easing the burden and pressure on the planes until a National Assembly decision is made on the procedures over the airline's privitazation and whether it was possible or not to update the fleet with new aircraft.
