Kuwaiti Ambassador to South Korea Muteb Al-Mutoteh

SEOUL, June 28 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Ambassador to South Korea Muteb Al-Mutoteh
met with the South Korean Premier Kim Hwang-Sik among a host of ambassadors
from Arab countries, and gave a speech on their behalf as Acting Dean of the
Arab Diplomatic Corps in which he praised the relations between the host
country and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in particular.
He noted there was particular development in relations recently and the GCC
bloc became South Korea's second trade partner after China in 2011. The trade
volume for that year topped USD 112 billion, at an increase of some 43 percent.
The ambassador said the GCC is fully committed to securing world energy
supply and smooth oil flow to the global market and especially committed to
honoring its obligations to partners such as South Korea.
He expressed gratitude for the host state's government and South Korean
corporations that contributed to the construction of the infrastructure in
Gulf countries and hailed the level of excellence and high quality that
guaranteed the nation its current proud standing among the world's industrial
powers.
The premier for his part stressed there had been notable improvement in
relations with Arab nations and said such gatherings of diplomats and
representatives throughout the first half of this current year proves
eagerness to further develop the interaction.
He also expressed particular appreciation for the support of the Gulf
Cooperation Council to his country and expressed belief cooperation between
the Arab peninsula and the South Korean peninsula would lead to brighter
future horizons.(end)
