BAGHDAD, May 18 (KUNA) -- A suicide bomber, driving a bobby-trapped
vehicle, blew himself up on Friday in Salah Eddin province north of the
capital after being surrounded by an army unit, a security source said.
The unit suspected the vehicle and later chased and fired at it near Baiji
area north of Tikrit, which forced the attacker to detonate himself, the
source added.
Iraqi police did not provide further details on the incident, noting that
the unit obstructed the suspected vehicle and sealed off the explosion area.
