KUWAIT, May 1 (KUNA) -- The number of Syrians killed by government forces on Tuesday rose to 43 people in various Syrian cities, particularly Idleb which had the largest share of victims, and 141 in total since arrival of UN international observers' mission, said Local Coordination Committees.
The committees said that regime forces were currently launching heavy attacks on Al-Quriya, Al-Ashara, Al-Shaitat, and Abu Hamam districts in Deir Al-Zour amid reports on several deaths and injured individuals.
In Hasaka, about 10 soldiers of security forces announced their defection from regime military to join the Free Syrian Army, while gunfire and shelling continued on villages and neighborhoods of Aleppo and Homs, followed by arrival of military strengthening to the area.
In the same context, LCC announced on Tuesday that it has documented names of 141 dead individuals, including nine children, who were all killed by regime's military operations in Idleb since the entry of UN international observers' mission to Syria in light of Syrian regime' agreement to cease fire and withdraw military forces from cities in accordance with international peace plan.
It pointed out that since the visit of UN observers to Idleb for the first time last week, several towns and districts had witnessed violent shelling and continuous gunfire afterwards, which resulted in death and injury of 10 of individuals along with raids and arrests campaigns against activists.
Moreover, LCC said that the observers' mission made a very short visited today to the city of Areha, which was under heavy shelling yesterday, and Al-Shagour Bridge, noting that some of the city's activist tried to take the UN mission to sites where regime forces are mostly centered, but the mission refused.
