SANAA, April 22 (KUNA) -- Three suspected Al-Qaeda militants were killed in an air raid in the northeast Maareb governorate on Sunday, local sources in the area said.
They added that the raid targetted a number of vehicles believed to be used by Al-Qaeda militants. The strike killed at least three persons and destroyed three vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni defense ministry announced the killing of 17 Al-Qaeda militants in an air raid in the southern Abyan governorate.
It added the raid aimed at a group of militants who were meeting in a house in southeast city of Lodar in Abyan.
Wide-scale hostilities have been taking place between pro-Al-Qaeda Ansar Al-Sharia group and the Yemeni government forces in Abyan. (end) az.bs KUNA 222028 Apr 12NNNN
