BAGHDAD, March 29 (KUNA) -- United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon
arrived in the Iraqi capital on Thursday to take part in the 23rd Arab summit
due to open later today.
A Foreign Ministry source told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the UN chief
was received at the airport by Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari and other
ranking figures.
Chairman of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu
arrived in the Iraqi capital, late on Wednesday, for the same purpose.
The summit, the first to be hosted by Baghdad since more than 20 years ago,
is due to address various issues, namely Syria, Palestine and other topics of
common concern. (end)
