GAZA, March 8 (KUNA) -- A Palestinian girl died and her sister was severely
injured on Thursday when both of them fell down inside a goods smuggling
tunnel across the southwestern borders of Gaza Strip with Egypt.
The accident killed Samar Wael, one and half years old, and injured her
sister, two and half years old, Adham Abu Salim, Palestinian Spokesman for
Emergency and Aid Higher Committee told KUNA.
Palestinian medics transferred both casualties to Abu Yousif Al-Najjar
Hospital.
Israeli imposed economic sanctions forced Palestinians, particularly those
in southern Gaza to use smuggling tunnels to provide food, medics, and
petroleum for the besieged city. (end)
