AMMAN, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- Qatari Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani
will be visiting Jordan accompanied by Hamas politburo chief Khaled Mishal
tomorrow, an official statement said Saturday.
They will be meeting King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah
to discuss boosting bilateral relations and cooperation all domains, added the
statement.
Jordan's relations with the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement, Hamas,
suffered a setback in 1999. This resulted in expelling the movement and five
of its leaders, including Mishal, to Qatar. Mishal returned to Amman twice
ever since, the first in 2009 to attend funeral of his father and the second
last year to visit his sick mother.
Israel attempted to kill Mishal in Jordan in 1997, three years after Amman
and Tel Aviv signed a peace treaty. (end)
