ISLAMABAD, Jan 25 (KUNA) -- At least six soldiers and thirteen militants
were killed and several others were wounded in clashes between the two sides
in a Pakistani tribal agency, bordering Afghanistan.
According to security sources, the security forces were conducting an
operation against local Taliban militants when clashes took place between the
two sides in Jogai area of Kurram tribal agency.
Sources told KUNA that the security forces used heavy weapons against the
militants. They said six soldiers were killed and three others were wounded.
They said further that more than thirteen militants were also killed and
several others were wounded. They said more than five militant hideouts were
also destroyed in the operation. (end)
