SAUDI ARABIA MOURNS PASSING AWAY OF PRINCESS RIYADH, FEB 17 (KUNA) -- THE SAUDI ROYAL COURT MOURNED THURSDAY THE PASSING AWAY OF PRINCE IFFAT ALTHNAYAN, 84, WIDOW OF LATE KING FAISAL BIN ABDELAZIZ, AFTER UNDERGOING AN OPERATION.
A STATEMENT CARRIED BY THE SAUDI PRESS AGENCY (SPA) SAID THE PRINCESS WILL BE LAID TO FINAL REST HERE AFTER THE FRIDAY PRAYERS.
THE ELDEST SON OF HE DECEASED, MOHAMMAD, IS THE FOUNDER OF THE BAHRAIN BASED FAISAL ISLAMIC BANK THAT HAS BRANCHES IN OTHER ISLAMIC STATES.
ALSO THE DECEAS4ED IS THE MOTHER OF FOREIGN MINISTER SAOUD AL FAISAL AND INTELLIGENCE CHIEF TURKI AL FAISAL.
THE SICKNESS OF THE DECEASED WAS BEHIND THE DELAY OF THE VISIT OF SYRIAN FOREIGN MINISTER FAROUK AL SHARAA TO ATTEND THE SAUDI-SYRIAN COMMITTEE MEETING. (END) TT.MM. KUNA 172237 Feb 00NNNN
