KUWAIT, July 26 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Ambassador to Australia Najeeb Al-Bader on Wednesday expressed his pride in Sabah Al-Ahmad's Masjid and Islamic Education Center, an ongoing project in Canberra, Australia.
In a statement obtained by KUNA, Ambassador Najeeb said that this Islamic establishment would serve the Muslim society in this area.
Ambassador Najeeb pointed out that the Islamic center includes educational and cultural centers that aim to teach Quran memorization and the Arabic language and organize programs and lectures that promote tolerance and acceptance.
He added that the project, worth 7.1 million Australian dollars (USD 5.6 milion), would be the biggest mosque and Islamic center in Canberra.
The ambassador personally met with a number of the executers of the project, which will be open to visitors during Eid Al-Adha, to observe its final stages.
An agreement was signed between Ambassador Al-Bader and the Canberra Islamic Centre, where Kuwait would finance Sabah Al-Ahmad's Masjid and Islamic Education Center. (end)
