Arab League Council meet to discuss Israeli Al-Aqsa Mosque "assault"

CAIRO, July 17 (KUNA) -- The Arab League Council held an extraordinary session at the level of the permanent delegates of member countries on Monday to discuss the latest developments in Jerusalem after the Israeli "assault" against Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Palestinian representative to the Arab League Ambassador Jamal Al-Shobaki presented a detailed report on "Israeli violations" against Islamic and Christian holy sites, especially against the holy site of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The meeting was held urgently, upon a request presented by the Palestinians, to discuss the recent shutdown of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Israeli installment of electronic doors at the entrances of the mosque, to inspect prayer-goers.
"Israel is launching a fierce war against the Palestinian people, as the radical wright-wing movement led by Benjamin Netanyahu is continually tightening on Jerusalemites and working upon the policy of Al-Aqsa Mosque separation, spatially and temporally," he said.
The Kuwaiti delegation at the talks was headed by the permanent representative to the Arab League Ambassador Ahmad Abdulrahman Al-Baker. (end) mfm.rg.lb
