CAIRO, July 14 (KUNA) -- The Arab Parliament (AP) on Friday denounced Israel's breaking through Al-Aqsa Mosque, closing it to worshippers and declaring it a "closed military zone."
This grave escalation by the Israeli authorities runs against all the international laws and principles as well as human values, undermining peace attempts in the region, the AP said in a statement.
The move is also a part of the Israeli plan for dividing the mosque by time and areas, it added.
The AP urged the international community and organizations to assume their responsibilities, taking immediate measures to condemn the action launched by the Israeli occupation and to end the closure of the mosque to worshippers.
The continuation of the Israeli crimes and violations would not achieve the goals of the occupation, but will enhance Palestinians' steadfastness and clinging to their land and sanctities, the AP noted. (end)
