GENEVA, March 9 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait categorically rejected imposing of values and ethics that contradicts Islamic teachings via justifying them as world human rights issues, said a Kuwaiti diplomat Thursday.
Kuwait Permanent Representative to UN and international organizations here Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghunaim made this remark during an interactive dialogue gathering with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein.
Al-Ghunaim said that Kuwait rejected such attempts by some to impose strange values, because calling for world human rights did not mean imposing them on others.
The ambassador added Kuwait continued to thrive as result of its Arab and Islamic values, and was working relentlessly with many friendly countries for embracing forgiveness and peace values, which in turn boost human rights and equality among all people.
Meanwhile, the ambassador expressed condemnation to terrorism and violent radicalism and all of its forms and regardless of its motivation or justification.
Terrorism should not be attached to any religion, identity, or race, said Al-Ghunaim.
