WASHINGTON, Oct 12 (KUNA) -- The US reported a failed missile strike against a US warship for the second time in four days after detecting at least one missile originated in Ansarullah-controlled territory in Yemen.
The USS Mason received an incoming missile threat in international waters off the Red Sea and employed "defensive countermeasures" so the missile did not reach the ship, Pentagon Spokesperson Peter Cook said in a statement Wednesday.
"Those who threaten our forces should know that US commanders retain the right to defend their ships, and we will respond to this threat at the appropriate time and in the appropriate manner," said Cook.
The was no damage to the ship and it will continue its routine operations. (end)
