Israel re-opens Kerem Abu-Salem commercial crossing

GAZA, Sept 29 (KUNA) -- The Israeli authorities re-opened Kerem Abu-Salem commercial crossing southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday, following its closure for eight consecutive days for the celebration of Jewish holidays.
A total of 900 trucks will be allowed entrance into the Strip carrying commercial goods and humanitarian aid, Head of the Presidential Coordinating Committee Raed Fatouh said here today.
He added that 218 other trucks carrying construction materials will also be allowed to enter the crossing, in addition to fuel, he added.
Israel had partially opened the crossing last week to allow entrance of industrial diesel, as the strip suffered a severe shortage of fuel and where a number of vehicles had been affected, besides halting work in a number of industrial facilities. (end) as.lb
