KUWAIT, Dec 11 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Salwa Al-Sabah Club beat Lebanon's Al-Qalamoun Club (3-0) as part of the Kuwait-hosted West Asian Women's Volleyball Championship.
The Kuwaiti team won the three sets with a score of (25-23, 25-22, and 25-16) on Thursday.
In other matches, Al-Quds of Palestine outplayed Al-Nasr of Yemen in three sets with scores of (25-12, 25-8 and 25-7).
Al-Arabi of Qatar defeated Qatar SC 4-0 with scores of (25-23, 23-25, 25-22 and 25-17).
Sanharib of Iraq beat Al-Fayha of Saudi Arabia 5-0 with scores of (19-25, 25-10, 25-17, 16-25 and 15-8).
The tournament is being held under the patronage of Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi.
Twelve clubs are participating in the tourney which last until December 13, namely Kuwait's Salwa Al-Sabah and Al-Fatah; Qatar's Qatar and Al-Arabi, Saudi Arabia's Al-Ula and Al-Fayha, the UAE's Sharjah, Jordan's Al-Nasr, Palestine's Al-Quds, Yemen's Al-Nasr, Lebanon's Al-Qalamoun, and Iraq's Sanharib.
