AL-NADOR, Morocco, Nov 16 (KUNA) -- The Centre for Shared Memory for Democracy and Peace honored Sheikha Dr. Souad Al-Sabah during the International Festival of Shared Memory Cinema in Nador, Morocco, in recognition of her great humanistic, literary, and intellectual endeavors.
The festival confirmed that the honoring "is a tribute to humanity and to the noble values that Sheikha Souad Al-Sabah defended throughout her literary and intellectual journey."
In a speech delivered on her behalf, Sheikha Souad made an appeal to the world to save humanity from violence, childhood from hunger and devastation, women from exploitation, and Gaza from siege and slow death.
The ceremony was attended by many different human rights activists, intellectuals, former prime ministers, writers, the King of Morocco's advisor Dr. Omar Azhiman, and Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah on behalf of his mother Sheikha Souad Al-Sabah. (end)
