Kuwait's SAB participates in high-level workshop on supreme audit institutions

By Mustafa Al-Marini RABAT, Sept 29 (KUNA) -- A high-level workshop on leading supreme audit institutions organized by the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) kicked off on Monday in Casablanca, with participation from Undersecretary of Kuwait's State Audit Bureau (SAB) Yousef Al-Mazrouei.
Al-Mazrouei said to KUNA that the workshop aims to support the capabilities of the supreme auditing institutions, ensure their duties are being handled effectively and according to recognized international standards, and enhance their independence.
He clarified that the workshop will highlight a number of relevant topics, such as reforming public financial management, as well as accountability, risks, and global and regional challenges.
The IDI was established in 1986 as an independent body affiliated with the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), and aims to support the capabilities of supreme audit institutions in member countries, especially in developing countries. (end) mry.sas
