KUWAIT, Sept 24 (KUNA) -- The 13th aircraft of Kuwait's second air bridge under the "Kuwait by Your Side" campaign departed Wednesday from Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base to Egypt's Al-Arish International Airport with 40 tons of food aid bound for Gaza.
The flights fall under the "Fazaa for Gaza" drive organized with Kuwaiti charities, in coordination with the Ministries of Social Affairs, Foreign Affairs, and Defense (Kuwait Air Force), Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) said.
Speaking to KUNA, KRCS Chairman Khaled Al-Maghamis said the second air bridge reiterates Kuwait's steady humanitarian stance toward Gaza and aims to ease Palestinians' suffering under siege, reflecting deep solidarity.
Meanwhile, KRCS Operations Director Zainab Qambar said coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) is ongoing through official communications and a Kuwaiti field team in Egypt overseeing offloading operations.
KRCS Director General Fawaz Al-Mazrouei and Liaison Officer Abdulrahman Al-Saleh meet Egyptian officials to arrange offloading, safe storage, and trucking into Gaza after border procedures, she pointed out.
The mission includes volunteer Dalal Al-Khalifa, in line with International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) priorities to empower women and strengthen volunteer roles, she noted.
Today's shipment was prepared using donations from the Revival of Islamic Heritage Society (RIHA).
Thus far, the second air bridge has dispatched four flights to Jordan and nine to Egypt, delivering a total of 250 tons of Kuwait-made food items in coordination with Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company. (end)
