Iraq, Lebanon discuss boosting economic cooperation

BAGHDAD, Aug 5 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Al-Sudani held talks on Tuesday with the visiting Lebanese Minister of Labor Mohammad Haidar on mutual cooperation in the economic and investment spheres.
The premier's press office said in a statement the talks between Al-Sudani and Haidar dealt with regional issues, cooperation in the economic, communication sectors, activating the joint business council and regulating labor movement between the two states.
Al-Sudani expressed support for Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity and Haidar affirmed Beirut's desire to expand the economic cooperation with Baghdad.
Iraq has supplied fuel to Lebanon to run its power generators and Beirut offers medical treatment to Iraqis at preferential prices. (end) ahh.rk
