CAIRO, July 4 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty on Friday cautioned against the serious conditions in the West Bank as a result of Israeli occupation policies.
Abdelatty gave the warning in a phone call with his Norwegian counterpart Espen Barth Eid to look into the latest regional developments, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
During the phone conversation, the Egyptian ministry spoke highly of Norway's support for the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, according to the release.
He also kept his Norwegian counterpart posted on the efforts of Egypt, Qatar and the U.S. to reach an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, pointing out a Cairo-hosted international conference on Gaza recovery and rehabilitation in Gaza once a Gaza ceasefire is reached.
Both sides underlined the significance of holding up the ceasefire between the Israeli occupation and Iran and reviving the diplomatic approach in order to ensure calm and mitigate tensions in the region. (end) aff.mt
