Assistant FM, Palestinian Minister discuss strengthening joint cooperation

TUNIS, 1 July (KUNA) -- Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Affairs Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Duaij Al-Sabah met with Palestinian Minister of Social Development, Samah Hamad, on Tuesday to boost cooperation in human rights issues during a high-level Arab regional meeting.
The meeting was part of the preparations for the Second World Summit for Social Development in Tunisia.
Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher reaffirmed Kuwait's strong support for the Palestinian people and stressed the need for an independent Palestinian state to achieve sustainable development and promote peace in the region.
The summit, scheduled to take place in November next year in Doha, will focus on social development priorities, including poverty eradication and social integration. (end) sbm.ara
