Kuwait welcomes Rwanda-DRC peace deal

KUWAIT, June 28 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed on Saturday the agreement on cessation of hostilities signed by the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda in Washington yesterday.
On behalf of the State of Kuwait, the Ministry appreciated in a statement the efforts made by sisterly Qatar and the United States and Qatar to facilitate the peace talks and end the decades-long insurgency in the DRC.
Reaffirming Kuwait's support to dialogue and diplomacy as a means of dispute settlement, the Ministry voiced hope that the peace deal will promote security and stability in Africa. (end) aa.gb
