French Foreign Ministry
PARIS, June 28 (KUNA) -- French Foreign Minister Jean Noel Barrot, along with Greek counterpart, Giorgos Gerapetritis, called for respecting the ceasefire between Iran and Israeli occupation which came into effect June 24.
In a press release, the French Foreign Ministry, mentioned that this came in a meeting held on Saturday in the capital, Paris.
The two talked of boosting strategic partnership and mechanisms of civil protection in light of recurring forest fires in Greece.
The Ministers affirmed sturdiness of bilateral relations, underlining intent on boosting cooperation within the European Union especially relating to immigration and defense.
The EU's trade policy should allow for the development of fair and balanced partnerships in favor of European interests, the two stressed.
As for the EU's agreement with South America's MERCOSUR, the European ministers agreed upon necessity of enhancing agricultural avenues.
The two also delved into several other topics including Ukraine, Gaza, Libya, and Syria as they underscored political solutions, combatting terrorism and protecting civilians. (end)
