BEIRUT, March 22 (KUNA) -- Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned on Saturday attempts to drag Lebanon back into the cycle of violence.
Aoun considered the non-compliance with the ceasefire and withdrawal of Israeli forces from the south to be an attack on Lebanon.
He called on the monitoring committee from the last November agreement, the army, Lebanon's allies, and all forces in southern Lebanon to follow up what is happening with utmost seriousness to avoid any repercussions.
Aoun asked Army Commander General Rodolphe Haykal to take necessary field measures to maintain the safety of citizens and keep investigating what happened.
Following the launch of rockets from Lebanese territory towards the occupied Palestinian territories, the army conducted search operations and found three improvised rocket launchers in the area between Kafr Tebnit and Arnoun.
Southern Lebanon witnessed artillery shelling of some villagers by the Israeli occupation army, today.
The ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and the Israeli occupation began on November 27 after the events on October 2023 and the war on September 2024 that claimed thousands of dead and caused widespread devastation in Lebanon. (end) ayb.sas
