WASHINGTON, Dec 12 (KUNA) -- The mass circulation Time Magazine has designated the US president-elect Donland Trump personality of the year
It penned that Trump was chosen "For marshaling a comeback of historic proportions, for driving a once-in-a-generation political realignment, for reshaping the American presidency and altering America's role in the world, Donald Trump is Time's 2024 Person of the Year."
The President-elect Trump on Thursday rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in New York, following his selection as Time magazineآ’s "Person of the Year."
"It is an honor. And this is a double, because usually they donآ’t coordinate the man of the year or the Person of the Year with the ringing of the bell. And brilliantly, youآ’ve picked them both at the same time. It takes one trip," Trump said.
It was widely expected Time would pick Trump; the magazine has bestowed the honor on the winner of that year's presidential election in every race since George W. Bush in 2000. Trump was also named Person of the Year in 2016 when he first won the White House.
Last year, the magazine gave the title to megastar Taylor Swift. (end)
