Kuwaiti shooter Al-Rashidi snatches fourth place in ISSF World Cup

CAIRO, May 4 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti shooter Talal Al-Rashidi came fourth in the Trap men's competition of the International Shooting Federation World Cup which concluded in Cairo Thursday.
"This is a great achievement for Kuwaiti and Arab shooting sport," head of Kuwait's delegation to the championship Nedhal Omar told KUNA.
"The competition was ferocious and qualification for the final was not an easy task at all," he added.
For his part, Al-Rashidi said this achievement shows that Kuwaiti shooters are well prepared for the coming tournaments.
He noted that the next goal is to book a seat at the Paris Olympic Games 2024 and grab a medal in it.
Meanwhile, Kuwaiti shooter Al-Mudhaf, who ranked fourth at the qualifications rounds of the same competition, expressed pride of the achievement, noting that they competed world and Olympic champions.
He described Kuwait's winning of the fourth positon in the World Cup as an honorable result for all Arab countries.
He pointed out that Kuwaiti shooters' qualification for the final was a "victory" itself.
"This achievement presents Kuwait as one of the best world countries in the shooting sport", he said.
Czech shooter Jiri Liptak won the gold medal, Italian shooter Massimo Fabbrizi grabbed the silver medal, while the bronze medal went to the Australian shooter James Willett. (end) ms.aff.ibi
