ADEN, Jan 26 (KUNA) - The Kuwait-based Rahma International Charity completed on Thursday building a school, which will benefit some 500 children of displaced families in southern Yemen's Lahj governorate, as part of the eight-year 'Kuwait is Beside You' campaign.
Idris 3 Model School is equipped with 12 classrooms in addition to administration and teacher offices, a shop, restaurant, playground and toilets. Solar panels have also been installed in the school, a spokesperson for the contractors of the project said.
The school aims to educate displaced students in the early stages of learning, from grade 1 to 9, adequately providing them with the school bags and supplies they may need for the task, added Raed Ibrahim.
It will also create an appropriate educational environment for the displaced students, who have been prevented from an education due to their dire circumstances.
The project came at the behest and appeals of local authorities in the governorate after the children had been studying in tents, he explained. (end) sns.sd
