MADRID, Jan 25 (KUNA) -- The Spanish government announced on Wednesday its readiness to send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine after Germany's announcement of sending 14 tanks.
Spanish Minister of Defense Margarita Robles said in a statement that Spain is ready to deploy Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and train Ukrainians on its use, in coordination with NATO allies, but the number of tanks is still unidentified.
Spain has 347 Leopard tanks, 50 of which are useless, and has 239 Leopard A2, which is the newer model that was manufactured in Spain. (end)
