Egypt strongly condemns burning of Holy Quran in Sweden

CAIRO, Jan 21 (KUNA) -- The Egyptian Foreign Ministry condemned as "disgraceful" the burning of a Holy Quran copy by a far-right activists in Stockholm on Saturday afternoon.
Such despicable acts can only provoke the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world and fuel hate and violence, the ministry said in a statement.
It called for giving precedence to the values of tolerance and coexistence, preventing any affront to people with different faith, and promoting respect for the freedom of belief and the basic human rights. (end) aff.aq
