KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- Indonesian authorities set the country on high alert on Sunday as the Semeru Volcano erupted in the eastern Island of Java, creating a column of ashes at a height of 1.5 kilometers.
The emergency authorities in Indonesia warned the populace against conducting any sort of activities near the site of the volcano, urging them to stay five kilometers away from the eruption.
Authorities began to move citizens living near the volcano, according to local news outlets. (end)
