KUWAIT, Nov 26 (KUNA) -- Argentine beat Mexico 2-0 Saturday in Group C of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, securing precious three points necessary to keep their World Cup dream alive.
Argentine's Superstar Lionel Messi scored the opener in the 64th minute via a ground shot from outside the penalty area, while substitute player Enzo Fernandez added the second goal in the 87th minute with a wonderful shot that hit the Mexican net.
Poland tops Group C, at the moment, with four points, after its victory earlier in the day over Arabia.
Argentina and Saudi Arabia rank second and third respectively each has three points but there is goal difference in favor of Argentine. Mexico is at the bottom of the group with one point. All the four teams have chances to advance to the round of the 16th or leaving the competition. (end)
