KUWAIT, Nov 26 (KUNA) -- The World Champions France booked its ticket to the round of 16 in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 after defeating Denmark 2-1 to top Group D.
Striker Killian Mbappe led his French team to victory by scoring two goals in the 61st and 86th minutes, while Denmark scored its only goal in the 68th minute through defender Andreas Christensen.
With this result, France secured six points of two victories, placing it on the top of Group D, followed by Australia with three points, while Tunisia and Denmark shared last place with one point each.
The other team to qualify for the round 16th will be decided in the last round, when Denmark meet Australia and Tunisia play against France. (end)
