African leaders stress need of exploiting continent wealth

ALGIERS, Nov 25 (KUNA) -- Niger President Mohammad Bazoum stressed that Africa has all kinds of natural, land and energy wealth, in addition a young demography.
Speaking at an inaugural speech at the extraordinary African Summit on Friday, Bazoum said it is imperative that the African leaders should have the political will, unity and the power of will to achieve industrialization and economic diversification in the Continent.
Bazoum pointed to the need for industrialization to be the subject of integration between the public and private sectors, with creating small and medium enterprises that respond to the needs of the continent.
Meanwhile, the African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat affirmed in his speech that the gateway to industrialization in the African continent is based on the agricultural sector due to its great importance.
He said the success of industrialization, economic diversification, and the free trade zone in Africa cannot be achieved without the political will and unity of all AU member states. The leaders discussed means of cooperation amongst the Continent's countries in industry, economic development, and creating job opportunities. (end) mr.hm
