1952 -- The first cultural club is established in Kuwait; named the National Cultural Club.
1961 -- Kuwait Investment Company (KIC) is established to deal in investments at the domestic and external levels, with a capital amounting to KD 15 million (approx. USD 48 million).
1962 -- The Algerian struggler Djamila Bouhired visits Kuwait and is accorded warm welcome due to her resistance of French colonialism.
1985 -- Iran seizes the Kuwaiti cargo ship "Ibn Al-Bitar" as part of a chain of hostile actions against Kuwait 2008 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues a law stipulating that couples to be should undergo medical checkup before marriage.
