President of the European Council to visit China

BRUSSELS, Nov 24 (KUNA) -- President of the European Council Charles Michel will be travelling to Beijing on December 1 to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang, a EU official said Thursday.
"The three main reasons for his visit are geopolitical developments , economic developments and global challenges," the official told journalists on the condition of anonymity.
"The war in Ukraine has impacted the EU and it is critical that China and Russia are not siding together," he noted.
EU and Chinese leaders will discuss global challenges as well as subjects of common interest. (end) nk.gb
