MOSCOW, June 20 (KUNA) -- Russia on Friday confirmed intention to continue
cooperation with Iran to complete the electro-nuclear Bushehr station project.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Kiseljak in a press statement made
following his meeting with his US counterpart William Burns, said "Bushehr
station is consistent with all internationally-applicable standards and
Russian experts will continue to work on its construction".
He added that the station constituted a clear example for electrical energy
without raising the suspicions of the international community.
On the other hand, the Russian official announced his country's
determination to increase its military assistance to Afghanistan but declined
to disclose the size of the increase. (end)
